on the air
We’re a community of do’ers and thinkers, with love to share and stories to tell. Our audio program consists of stories freshly-harvested from each of our four departments: Earth, Life, Craft and Song. Fret Knot Radio Hour features unique storytelling, audio documentary, music and art review, shoutouts and updates – from our folks, our friends and our community at large – that we feel will educate, motivate and entertain our listeners. Our podcast is available for free, with no strings attached, for all to enjoy.
on the stage
We are cultivating a live stage component to Fret Knot Radio Hour, at our home in Asheville, North Carolina. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, “The Land of the Sky,” is a hub of roots music and folk culture – a paradise of sorts for a distinctive blend of pickers, foot-tappers, artsy folk and activists. Fret Knot Radio Hour seeks to provide a unique experience for our audience, bringing together musicians and advocates on the stage in a charming forum setting. Our host will pick at their brains, the musicians will pick at ‘em instrument strings, our guests will pick at your heartstrings – and our audience will know that on this night, they picked the right place. Our onstage events are hosted at Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe in historic downtown Asheville, and are completely free to the public.
